;D Rather late than never, happy new year everybody. ;D Our neighbours must've had a truckload of fireworks, it went on till well after 2am. We watched an Andre Rieu DVD that was given to us as a christmas gift. Yollie, I see you live in the Netherlands? Andre Rieu is from Maastricht, do you live close by? I'm sure you must have heard about him, he's extremely popular the world over. He's coming to NZ in October to do 2 concerts.

lol at close by Maastricht, no sorry, its about the furthest away from us as you could get! I'm up on the north west coast, and Maastricht is way down south. Still, as distances go its nothing compared to in NZ of course. I think we would take about 3.5-4 hours drive on a good day. (depending on traffic) And yes, I know of him, there are often concerts on tv, just recently we watched the concerts he gave in Australia. He's very popular here too. So are you going to go to a concert?

No Yollie, considering the front row seats at his Australia concert sold for $1 500.00 each, I don't think we'll be going to his concerts here. Sitting far back when you have to look at a screen to see what's going on in the front is not something I'd enjoy. I'd rather watch it on DVD. He did mention in the DVD we watched that his own countrymen don't like travelling too far to see his concerts. Yet the Americans, Australians, Kiwis don't mind travelling far distances at all.

Cailz I think it might have to do with the traffic - it can be horrendous in the middle of the country and you always have to go through the middle if you're going anywhere. And public transportation is pretty expensive and leaves much to be desired. Having said that, I know plenty of people that do go to concerts down south (thats where the best concert halls are). But prices are usually pretty steep as well - although I don't think I've come across any that cost that much! (1500 $ - now that is a LOT!!) happy new year to you too askyouraunty - nice to see you again
