made me very sad to see the state of the poor old fellow and yet his attitude was so bright and strong - we need to see more of that in the younger generations...Glad the cops have caught someone.

I'm really glad this little creep has been caught. It's a pretty cowardly act to beat up an elderly person (any person for that matter, but elderly makes it so much worse).
Well done the Police for getting this creep so fast and a big ups to the person who recognised the creature and called the Police.

An 18-year-old male was arrested yesterday on unrelated matters in Papatoetoe.
He was later charged with aggravated robbery and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in relation to the attack on Mr Brady.
He is due to appear in Manukau District Court tomorrow.
It would be mischievious of me to ask the forum to predict the ethnicity of his attacker....

Not as certain as my guess which ethnicity you are Naki. Even though you have a Maori name here I bet that you are of European descent.
I bet too that the lowlife who attacked the elderly man if he does get reported as a Maori also has European genes, bloodlines.
What then Naki? What if he is of European breeding at all? Would it be a surprise considering all the things that Europeans have done over time such as what the European Nazis did to the Jews less than 70years ago?
What about the KKK in America and what they did through most of the 1900s?
Can someone please teach me about any dark skinned races or cultures who committed genocides or planned prolonged murdering on people of white skin simply because they were white?
Is there any known history of dark skinned people colonising white people and treating these white people that they colonised as second rate humans like Australia, South Africa, North America, India and New Zealand? I know that the French colonised African countries but I don't know the proper history of the teatment of the indigenous peoples of these countries like I do the peoples the British colonised.

I was rather hoping he'd be a European, would have showed up terauparaha's theory on white crime again. Interesting that a decent upstanding war veteran from Auckland gets more press attention than some gang lowlife from Timaru, though.

This incident reminded me of one which could have been as bad at our local rsa a number of years ago. An elderly couple were being pushed about & abused by a group of pakeha guys outside the door and my husband happened to see them, so he went out, punched the guy who he witnessed doing the hitting and ended what could have been a serious attack.

What a sad reflecion on human nature these remarks are! An old soldier was physically abused by all accounts by a young thug with no respect or caring for humanity and who probably never heard of WW2 and the sacrifices made by every race. or what the RSA symbolised. An ignoramus, of what colour does it even matter?? An old chap was wounded by a younger one and it's the lack of respect for elders, and the general wider public. which bothers me! I coat the fillets in salted flour
then fry it in butter till theyre crisp both sides
simple and yummy
made some raw fish too just perfect
all we did was stand on the shore what a good haul we caught 11 al together
had to throw some back just a little bit too small
