Hi cookie yollie and bron .... haven't seen you Northern girls around for a while. Hope all is well. The weather today is a lot better .... blue sky and sun but the slight breeze is still a bit nippy. All those who are out and about for Waitangi Day celebrations will be pleased it's fine.

Hi Maire, yes quite well thanks, busy as at the moment and not much computer time.
Its quite nice out today, the sun is shining, still cold, but even so, managed to get a wee bit of gardening done (trimming the bushes etc), got a wheely bin full of clippings. Now I've got my two men at work digging out a tree, root by root and then sawing through the roots. Looks like that will be done by this arvo too!!

It wasn't too bad today either. Still cold, but it is winter after all.
They got the tree dug out and cleared all the new shoots that were popping out all over.
So now I have to think about what I want to plant there instead!

Crikey, the Gods went crazy didn't they! My sisters wee girl ended up in mum and dads bed. My boy said he heard the heavy rain but not the thunder, he must be a deep sleeper it certainly kept me awake a while. My partner got up to shut windows I think he thought we might suffer a direct hit otherwise , it was so damn hot though.

We are having lovely weather at the moment. I had to scrape the car window this morning, as it froze some during the night. But it turned out really nice during the day, really sunny and mild, and they are expecting more of the same this week. Its down to 6 C now (nearly 7 p.m.), so probably cold again tonight, but it is still winter after all!
What I really love is that its finally nearly light when I go to work at 8 a.m. Last week it was still pretty dark, but today some of the cars didn't even turn their headlights on!!

The seasons change so quick yollie, we will be getting the dark mornings again soon. NZ doesn't seem to have the same short daylight hours in the winter, as some Northern hemisphere countries do though. Well here in Wellington we don't seem to Todays weather is very changable. It poured with rain early this morning, cleared up and was sunny and blue skies. Then about 30 minutes ago, it clouded over and we had a shower with another looking very likely going by the darkening sky.

After two grey and misty days the sun is now out, its blue skies, still very cold though, only 1.2 C (brrrr), luckily not much wind as that makes it feel much colder!
Maire, there is a touch of spring around, even though its so cold. Some of the bulbs are starting to come out, like the crocusses (i?) and the snow drops, I passed a wee field on a street corner and it was full of snow drops!! Such a beautiful sight!!

Lovely sunny warm and windless day in the Hutt today. I gather it's like that where you are too koko. I bet if you unroll the carpets, the weather will change for the worse ..... murphys law ;D ;D
It was cold at 6am this morning, almost felt like a frost and our tomatoes are nowhere near ready. Hope they manage to ripen up before the frosts do come.
