Well in that case i will start. umm ermm... umm righto here goes
Jodie Picoult makes you believe every character she writes about is real, they are all going through their own little turmoil because of the one person who is seriously ill and is dyeing. The son feels neglected, and I think this is because, their life is centred around the two girls, the one that is ill and the one they harvest from. Basically there is nothing he can do, he cant help his sister live, and he cant tell his parents to stoo from harvesting from his little sister. Harvest sounds bad but is that not why they had her in first place? Even though they love her, and she is their hope so their 1st daughter will live.

I found it a little difficult at first to "get into" with it skipping from character to character. But once I got acquainted with them, they started to feel real (as real as a good author can make them ie) and I had trouble putting the book down. I did find her portrayal of Anna a bit too mature, but it is 17 years since my daughter was 13 and times have changed, so girls that age, in this age, could very well talk and think as Anna did. I felt extremely sorry for Jesse and was pleased his father didn't report him to the authorities even though what he did was wrong. It was a wake-up call for Brian and Jesse and it ended well for Jesse. At one point in the book, I got to the stage where I was hoping Kate would just die and leave Anna to have a life, but after Annas revelation in court, I realised Kate wanted that very same thing, so it negated those earlier thoughts. What a horrible twist to the ending ...... My favourite was Anna, she carried her burden well. My least favourite? Probably Sara, she came across as showing extreme favouritism to one child, while the other two had to make continual sacrifices for their sister. Mothers should not do that, under no circumstances. A great, but sad read and I must keep an eye out for Jodi Picoults other books.

James Patterson wrote to catch a spider, in the Alex Cross series, very good, he has written loads not only on Alex Cross but other books to with the help of other writers. Look him up on Amazon,

I just thought though that the ending was so wrong! Right out of court and bam she dies in a car crash?? That just didn't do it for me! Left me feeling a bit I dunno, unsatisfied I guess.
