Thank you for this punga .... I will look into it definitely! i see people on tm getting excited about being able to do tm from just a cell phone...its a waste of time cos cellphones screens are way to small and its been possilbe for yonks.if you have a razr or similar you can use it as a modem either by cable or bluetooth and it works as good as a normal landline connection.or you can buy a connect card or a vodem (i think vodems are crap though). ive been using vf mobile for internet for nearly 3 yrs now(on a data plan) and have never had the need for a landline connection.if your not in a 3g area, its a bit slow yet faster than normal landline dialup, but being connected everywhere i go(even in my truck while waiting to be loaded),is far more important to me than speed.

Hey thats pretty cool punga,
I was told that to use ya mobile for your internet connection would be way to expensive! And yet, it is not so. I would hazzard a guess that living in the Tauranga region, we won't living in a 3g area. Both dial-up & broadband are pretty sucky over/up this way. They reckon its got to do with the cables. Bugger if I know! Thanks for the heads up mate.

im in rangiora near chch.theres no 3g,but i still prefer vf.im sure the speed is pretty much the same in non 3g areas at 50 something kbps.in chch its 350 kps with a 3g phone/modem or 1 mbps and up to 3.5mbps/3500kbs if you have a vodem,vf mobile broadband connect card or a broadband ph like a motorolla razr v6.connecting to the vf data network only takes about 10 seconds also, unlike normal dialup

To be honest I would not use either one
they are still way to expensive
They should provide broadband that can be recieved anywhere.
ie you get modem for home and a take away adapter for when traveling all on the same data plan so you can have your bb access where ever you are.
And only have to pay for one plan no matter how you access it be it mobile or computer.
You should not have to pay more to have different access to the same thing.
And I cant really see the point of it on a mobile unless you take a massive magnifing glass with you...lol
