18 month old twins starved to death, that is one horrific story, I can't get my head around it. 4 other children in the house, ages 3,4,5, and 11, dad says he hadn't had anything to do with the twins for 6 months though he lived in the same house, mum says she thought she might not have feed them enough, they'd been dead a week before the 11 yr old decided to investigate the awful smell in the front room.
Axe murders 2 young kids and grandma. Children were cared for by grandparents while mum a police officer was at work. Grandad lost the plot. On the back of a dad and 3 kids found dead in a car through monoxide poisoning.

those cases are appalling
1 st case, poor wee darlings in a room, rarely visited , it seems & mum thought she may not have fed them enough - can you believe that?
What sort of woman could do that, even if her motherly instincts werent strong.
makes me want to get violent to those families. How dare they treat kids like that?

Even if the mother had post natal psychosis, doesn't explain the dads role. Very very hard to try to understand what was going on there, sometimes you get a mother who has lost the ability to nurture through post natal depression and sometimes the kill because of post natal psychosis but even if the mother was suffering some kind of mental breakdown, then what of the father?

I hate these cases. They're awful. The case about the starved twins is just bizarre. How can you not have had something to do with your twins for six months if you live in the same house?
It's a bit like the one in the Waikato where the child was found dead, both parents were home and both are saying they didn't do it. Well ... who did? This one happened the same time as the Kahui case, but has pretty much gone under the radar.

i saw in one report that the mother & father were estranged
living in the same house but little contact
there were agencies out there to help them, had they known

It's just weird though isn't it? He was still the father of those children too. How could he not know or not check? Ugh. It's horrible.
