My nephew has been having treatment for testicular cancer over the last little while, and on Friday we got word to say that he was really poorly. When his parents my sis and BIL got to Auckland they found out that while he was having treatment one of his lungs collapsed. He was on ventilator and lots of tests were carried out. On Saturday we found out that the chemo basically had fried his lungs and they were covered in abcesses. No transplant could be carried out as the tubes to the lungs damaged as well. Well, anyway, he passed away 5.15pm nz time today, life sure sucks doesnt it. He done the regular checks etc found a lump and got the treatment, and this shite happens tohim. 36 years old.

Bron I am so very sorry. Cancer is crap, too many families suffer from losing a loved one from it's malignant malevolence. My sincere condolences to you and your family. Thinking of you all ... Mary

Thanks for that, it really makes you begin to doubt if seeking treatment is the RIGHT thing to do sometimes.

Yes certainly does, it's a terrible roller coaster ride of all the emotions, so hard no matter which roads are taken. I suppose its human nature though to fight for life. And maybe in time when the family is over the grief and anger you'll appreciate the fight more than the end result. I don't know kiwi its hard to know what to say at times like this. It must hurt like hell that you are so far away from your sister and the rest of the family when you just want to be able to hold her and share her grief more closely, she'll know that. Do what you have to do but don't be too hard on yourself ok, we're thinking good thoughts for you.

kiwi68 I don't know you from this forum but I agree, at times mother nature can be very cruel, it sux sometimes & this is one of those times no rhyme or reason, makes it so tough, it knows no age limits had a 16yr old friend die from testicular cancer,
heartfelt condolences to you & his immediate family
