A spanker is a mast that takes a special spanker sail: Crossjacak is part of a ships rigging, No idea on Fore Royal but will say it must be rigging also. Fore of course being front but Royal? ??

I just wiki-ed it to check and it said that he did military service, serving in three campaigns, so I guess you could say he was trained as a soldier too

He was son of a sculptor (according to my book) and himslf did sculpting, but not sure if he was trained at it. so I will guess at Sculptor

Correct: My source stated stonecutter - but I'm thinking son of a sculptor would make sense that he would follow that trade, most likely the same thing?

Ahhh, this one I do know. ts a herb used for fever, pain like toothache. It also has an antiseptic quality and is used for 'bleeders'
