Who's camping out in the TV room tonight to watch the opening ceremony?
What are you favorite events?
Mine are track events, diving, gymnastics, and weightlifting.
I love the sprints, especially the men's sprints. ;D

I am more interested in the events tomorrow...but gotta admit the TV is on in the background now. My favorite events are the Equestrian, and the Swimming. But when it comes down to it, sport, is sport. I will watch as much as I can.

Blardy thing was fantastic!!!!
Amazing choreography of drummers, dancers, singers, fireworks, the lot. Didn't understand squat, but hey those chinese sure know how to put on a dang good show.
I like watching the Dressage Equestrian events - such beauty and elegant form of the horses flanks, and graceful movements.
I also enjoy the swimming, mens gymnastics, weightlifting, and sprints. Oh & the rowing! ... Those blimin Chinese swimmers look like and are built like men! You can't tell me THAT's normal? lol
Funny thing is, I watched a doco on Maori TV last nite (I think?) which showed the civil unrest in Beijing is largely due to 1.1 million people were given less than 5 days notice to vacate their homes because that ugly bird nest cage stadium was going to be built on their properties! They were booted out, their homes flattened and ground levelled.
Kind of took the shine off the whole blardy thing for me!!

Wahine Toa! Valarie Villi was freakin stunning last night in the shotput, man that was a joy to watch BOLTing through the hundred metres, as was Usain Bolt, too much and what a show. Mahe toughed it out didn't he? Great job Mahe, and the twins I think were a bit shell shocked 100th of a second!

I caved! Super Saturday was just too much for me. Valerie Vili and the Ever-Swindell twins, Mahe Drysdale, Hayden Roulston, Twaddle and Bridgewater ... take a bow. Fantastic stuff - as was the ABs dishing out an absolute hiding to the Bokkes.

Bevan Docherty took bronze today for the triathlon. An amazing feat - silver last time and bronze this time. The pace was incredible. I'm so glad he hung on for the bronze. Here's hoping he goes to London and wins the Gold! Onya Bevan.

Usain Bolt is an absolute superstar. We love the guy. We were cheering our heads off for him. Jamaica has now become the team we barrack for on the track. Go Jamaica Go!
