I think it will be interesting to see how these two high profile cases turn out, on the one hand you have a tagger killer claiming self defence after chasing a 15 year old 300 metres down the road with a knife, on the other you have twelve MMM members looking for trouble and killing a 2 year old baby who was asleep in a house one of them fired a gun into...4 of them being charged with murder while personally I think all those charged in both cases should be locked up. Couldn't the MMM members claim that it was not their intention to murder the baby...which I feel it probably wasn't. Do you think they'll get manslaughter? And what about the tagger killer? - is it possible he ran 300 metres down the road armed with a knife in pursuit of the taggers - without murderous intention?

I can not believe the outcome of that tagger trial. In my book should have been convicted of murder. As soon as he picked up that knife he had intention. The boy walked into the knife my bum - pleaseeeee
Good job on the other three.

Its a pretty sad indication as to where we are heading when scribbling on someones fence can earn you a death sentence. Our society is going down the drain. Our youth are exposed to so much crap these days its a wonder any of them can become fine citizens. If we as adults condone the killing of a 15 year old because he tagged a garage door then what are their perceptions of us adults and what can we expect of them in the future? Even the Mayor of CHCH said something to the effect of GOOD JOB he deserved it.
I think I'll call this 'The Dexter Phenomenon' meaning its alright to murder as long as you're doing it to what you decide is a 'baddie'. I think we'll see more of it because we've been de-sensitised to all the horrible shite that goes on in the world, we lack empathy. We've become more and more self focused. More into our things and our stuff and less interested in other peoples life trials and hurdles. We've lost respect for each other and that loss is the legacy we're leaving our kids. If that prick is granted home detention I hope with all my heart he looks remorsefully out his window everyday and remembers the horror of what he has done and the death of that boy vividly.
