Yes, you can. Yes, you can. Yes, you can. Yes, you can. Yes, you can. Yes: YOU DID.
I cannot wait for Obama to be sworn into office and take over the Presidency. It seems like an age since he won and is instated. I really think (wish) the Americans would make the transition from the old to the new easier i.e. why not have Bush finish at the end of the year and Obama take office on 1 Jan?
I know people have high, high expectations of Obama. Mine are more realistic: I hope he is better than Bush. I'm pretty sure he will be.
GO OBAMA! I think Americans made the right choice and they did the world a favour by voting for this exceptional person.

I will be staying up to see the change that has to happen.Go Obama!Free us all from the dictatorship and capitalist ways of the USA!Let us all have the freedom to worship our own God and dress the way we want to!Please Obama do not be swayed by the men with money who ignore the starving and diseased.Be the big brother that our world needs if that is your destiny but do not assume that others are weaker, for the weak shall rise and rebel! Be our friend.

My older son has an African American friend who is seemingly unimpressed by Obamas presidency win. I asked him last night if he was going to watch the inauguration, but he said even though it would be a historical event, he probably wouldn't watch it. He told me when Obama won the election he felt uneasy because if things get worse over there (with the financial situation) Obama will be blamed (sounds familiar) and consequently the people will never elect another black president. I can see his point, but do hope that Obama has some good skilled people working with him and they govern wisely.

Yip and look what happened - war, recession and literacy lessons. Never liked him from the get go. I like what Obama said during his speech when he referred to putting science back in its place.

If he could put war in it's place ... in the history books, that will make him the greatest president ever

For sure Maire.
Must admit the Americans do the inaugaration well. That whole 'king' and head of state thing. Fingers crossed that the impetus for change continues.

The inauguration thing is quite intoxicating can feel the stirring excitement, charged with positivity!
The word HOPE is a fantastic word, no matter where you are at if you have Hope you have something to look forward to.
Best of luck to America's new President, it was relayed on Fox this morning that 82 percent of American people back Obama in latest polls I think he won 52 percent of the vote during elections. I think just looking at his job description would make me tired let alone the masses of work he has in front of him once the honeymoon is over. Some African Americans will feel insecure to some degree I think as they will feel there integrity lays with Obama's success or lack thereof. His own people will have the highest expectations of him. Gawd what a job eh?
He can't do any more badly than GB who has lead the Country to rack and ruin basically, playing expensive war games and not looking after his own Countrymen.
