That's so true. I've started composting my kitchen waste and newspaper, egg cartons etc. It's amazing how much you'd usually throw away and how good the compost is for your vegies and garden. It's not difficult at all, just go for it I say.

Its interesting with all the mod cons - microwaves, food processors, washing machines, dishwashers...etc invented to reduce time spent doing chores but have you noticed that we have far more, more washing, more dishes, more foodstuffs, canceled out the original intention and has created more waste along the way.

We have developed into a "throw away" society.Twenty years ago if an appliance packed up you got it repaired. Today we throw a faulty appliance out and buy a new one. Well thats what happens in our house anyway

thirty years ago it took twenty years for something to pack up - now you're lucky if you get a good 5 years out of any appliance - hence the 'throw away' society. We're turning this world into a gigantic rubbish dump.

We're turning this world into a gigantic rubbish dump. So true. For instance, DVD's don't last long in our house, neither do CD players. Instead ow we play our music through the surround sound and no more CD players.
