The govt always fund farmers when they fall on hard times. It's "get stuffed" to the rest of us. This private school thing is going to be the same by the look of it. I wonder how many farmers children are in private schools. Ladies and gentlemen we have a right wing govt Kids who live away from district schools are Govt subsidised if they attend/ board at private schools. how much are they subsidised?

Not at all they could participate in public schools... the 96 percent which are govt funded.

Couldn't say exactly but there must be reference to it somewhere, My friends two girls board at a private college because they live out in the whops...they get funding for them.

Couldn't say exactly but there must be reference to it somewhere, My friends two girls board at a private college because they live out in the whops...they get funding for them. its could cheaper to do that than transporting them to the nearest public school.the cost of transport has skyrocketed. if a public school has 500 pupils and all private schools go out of business...at 4%,the school gains 20 extra kids, yet no extra funding for them.(plus the state may be obliged to transport them from timbucktoo) even if private schools are state funded, the parents will still be paying heaps for the private education and "i think" thats gotta be good for everyone else. i really do think "the state, propping private schools up for a while" could be the better alternative. lol i could argue for hours, but ive said my bit,so ill leave this subject alone now

I'd only consider it a good thing if all other endeavors were made to reduce running costs, if part of the argument is that we'd be in danger of losing some of the private schools, then surely benefactors would and have done in the past step forward to support the schools...sorry but I don't buy it. I wouldn't be interested in propping up private schools - when there are public schools out there desperate for funds, the 4 percent or the 96 percent its logical that the funding goes to the majority who are educating the majority of our kids.
