Weather History: Jun 10 1941 The heaviest spring tide at Christchurch for years caused damage at Redcliffs and Sumner. Retaining walls were swept way, houses flooded, boats carried on to the rocks and roads and tram lines were blocked. The waves knocked down the door of a boatshed and swept through the entire length of the building.
