I agree with Tariana Turia that Patches should be banned across the entire Country its a waste of money working up the legal hoohaa just for Whanganui - make it countrywide.
The down side I see is that if the gangs are no longer there in your sights through their appearance you really have to be more vigilant - at least we see them and can avoid them...however I'm betting they'll find some other way to make themselves stand out, as many already have ugly tattoos which I personally think are more intimidating than gang patches.
You know if they had the brains they'd walk around in suits and ties, shave clean and wear their hair like politicians...that way they could continue there bullshite and get a way with it. Hell you can be a well known celeb involved in drugs, rip offs, assaults, domestic violence and still be getting air time...yes my dears its all about appearance.
