Tuesday was a double wammer...2nd born assessment concert was amusing I learnt heaps about 'trip hop'...music based on Massive Attack and life Bristol...its a genre that was adapted to chch scene my girl wrote and arranged three pieces.
As for the I Love the Islands concert...it was 'da bomb' the concert finished with a face off between Scribe and Savage and she was pumping. My 1st born did really well considering she was small fish in a sea of top pacific artist. But my favourite part of the concert was Scribe's dad who is an accomplished guitarist united his old band from the 70's played blues and Jimi Hendix it was awesome. I had tears...the old fella's still got it

I watched a doco where scribe and dad were having a jam, awesome fanau! Must be fantastic too to have a musical family. I lived with a friend of mine for a while and her family were all fantastic musicians/ singers. I remember when we were kids staying over with her and playing all the kitchen utensils after dinner...had a ball anyway - her family all have great music skills, her brother was known as black Elvis in these parts, he's over on the Gold coast now doing cabaret. Her other brother was the guitarist - he'd be banging out Jimi Hendrix and smoking weed with his mates, while the sisters were having bible study in another room, a colourful experience it was all round We had a very muscial tangi for the axolotl when it died...We stuffed him into a toothpaste box, in a bit of cotton wool and sang serious dirges as we marched him out to the garden to be buried. We also had dance parties, where my friends two younger sisters desperately tried to turn my two left feet into dancing feet. Another time we were stuck on a broken down train coming out to the Hutt quite late at night, my friends family had the whole carriage rocking out songs...it was very entertaining...remember the rolling rolling rolling railways song? Anyway your mention of your children and there music talents have made me think of all that and I'm smiling. Cheers!
