ooooh that sounds great!!!
I think the last time (and only time) I went to a hangi was at primary school when we were studying maori art and culture and someone (can't remember who) made a hangi to show us how it was done. We also made pois and learned a song to play them with, oh and the sticks?

We also made pois and learned a song to play them with, oh and the sticks? I did the same... I used to make my own poi pois and make dance routines up with them... and my sister and I had a set of the 'sticks' and would sit for ages across from each other, or with another friend so it was 3 of us... so much fun we had without computers etc

Yep tomorrow, hope the weather stays good for us, its not bad today, sunny and about 18-20C.
I hear the weather is crap down south, lots of snow in Queenstown/Wanaka already, should be a good season for them. My sister and mum are moaning about the cold in Southland lol

Awesommmmmmmmmmmmmmme!!!! Apart from the rain!! But it was such a great day, new experience!! We were welcomed onto the marae to start, then there was singing, then the hangi. I had, chicken, pork and lamb, with spuds, kumara and cabbage oh and stuffing! Followed by steamed pudding with fruit salad and cream!! What a fat piggy I was pmsl!! It was all a fund raising event for Te Kohanga Reo in London www.kohanga.co.uk to celebrate their 10th anniversary. There was a cake stall where I stuffed lamingtons, afghans and ginger crunch!! And there was a raffle with loads of prizes that I didnt win lol.
