well I will see if I can find anything of his in the library. Sounds pretty good.
As to the quote, I have heard it before but will have to have a ponder on who said it.

It was Helen Keller (courtesy of google).
She was deaf, and blind wrote an autobiography (The story of my life) and several other books as well. I think it was reading material when I was at high school in NZ. Amazing story!!

Two fantastic books Lux. They really opened my eyes to how bad racism was in Sth Africa. Disgusted and saddened me that people could be so terrible. Not being much of a movie watcher, I didn't know TPOO had been made into a movie. Will have to look for it next time I'm at the video shop. Yollie .. Bryce Courtney is an excellent author, I'm sure you will enjoy his books. Cheers for the tunnel thingy .... do you remember if that was the same tunnel where a truck caught on fire causing many to die?

The World about us:
what has been cultivated for so long that it can no longer exist without human care. Because it has been domesticated, it has lost the ability to fly?

At a guess - the old chookie (chicken)
Maire that was a different tunnel, the Tauerntunnel in Austria, in 1999 and 12 people were killed. It was a result of a car pile up after which a truck load exploded. The tunnel was closed for 3 months after that.

Its quite possible. In olden days they were also kept as burglar alarms (as well as for eggs). Just try sneaking past a gaggle and hear the racket they make!! But as far as I know geese still fly! Maybe you are refering to turkeys Lux?
