mine is a xp/2000 Home edition

I bought it in 2004 brand new

I look after it, dont do random downloads,..its what I use at home

I want to install a data cd rom 2007 edition

its not compatible apparently,..

am I able to download or buy, any program that will bring it up to date to accomadate this data cd

or would I have to buy a new and more up to date pc,..

also its not allowing me to sign into msn ,...so Im just using IE at the moment

I tried the firewall disconnection, no go, so I gave up, but I prefer the msn log in ,..

my favourite- favourites list are all in there

um shall I start doing the mecca on my knees forward salutes to allah!!

well first, it should be compatible I have not found any cd's that are not compatible with xp yet, but if its a data cd made with vista, then it wont be, and can only be read with a vista machine. I found this prob on one machine, used my laptop to read cd's and then rewrite them in a format that xp could read - no need to buy new machine for that prob if its the same as yours.

i thinks i need more info on the msn not signing in, have you tried re-installing msn messenger that sometimes helps.

I thought about downloading the new msn, but wouldnt that mean I would lose my favourite's list in there ,...Id hate that to happen

I came in last night and wrote a long message then for some
stupid reason, I pushed the Back button .... lost it all and the
computer was running so slow, I gave up doing it again.

It was about your msn misi ... I think it's part of MS Internet Explorer & Outlook Express. I still have Windows 98SE and can do a repair which will fix any corruption etc in the program.
I tried to do the same on my sons lap top running xp, but like
a lot of xp applications, the repair option is hidden. Mine is found in Control Panel/Add&Remove Programs, but it's not there in XP.
Scruffy might know if this is an option you can try and where to locate it on your computer.

gee I was alerted to the fact that I had a trojan horse ,,...wow!! was thrown out on his trojan ass,..quik as by my heavily gaurded Pc ,.. ,..( scary!!!)

Hoping you can help. Lately I've been kicked out of the internet and then when I sign back in it can't find the server. Ive done all the necessary checks, switched off the modem and even rang good old telecom but they can't explain my dilemma. If I get a good long run I'm lucky
