I love The Gambia... been twice, the people are sooo friendly but are extremely poor.
When we have gone we have taken pens and paper and old books.
We leave behind our suntan lotion (because they are desperate for it out there) all of our toiletries, shampoos, soaps, toothpastes, etc etc.
We also leave a lovely tip for the person who cleans our room, we also tip the person who has waited on us in the restaurant or by the pool.
The gambians dont earn that much something like £15 per month. We gave that in tips to each person who looked after us.
