with Heart Children NZ today. He'll be enjoying the sunshine and sights for the next 9 days while we are wrapped up and huddled by the fire, and he's rubbing it in too! though I have reminded him that Australia does not have a no smacking law, so I'll ask my sister in law to meet him at the airport to smack him for the cheek he has given me over the last week ;D

Good plan Lux, lol. Tell her to give him a few in advance as well!! I hope he has a great time though, aren't they all grown up, going off by themselves!! I wouldn't mind a trip to the sun at the moment either, its rainy here as well.

It's pretty cold here at the moment, but not as bad as down south where they are experiencing a big white out! Yep 12 years old and all grown up, I had to be very brave at the airport and pretend like I didn't want to cry...though on the upside it means I won't have his friends eating me out of house and home this week

Susie met him at Auckland airport and said he was way in the swing of it there, so he wasn't missing his mummy! He did have a plane mate from Wellington a 13 year old girl, Susie said he knew her life story by the time they reached Auckland

It's hard when they first go off alone on the plane Or boat or train or car for that matter. 2nd time it's much easier and sometimes you almost look forward to it ;D ;D Lol at the smacking Lux & Yollie ... a cunning plan I'm sure he is having a super time Lux and will be well looked after. And before you know it, the tribe will be back in your kitchen. What is it about boys and their mates and their empty stomachs? I used to go through heaps of cornchips & cheese, that seemed the favourite. A big plate of ccs covered in melted cheese.

Oh I know, I've already noticed the abundance of food around the place since he's been gone, still cooking for four but we're having lots of left overs lol.

haha my son is the same, he is 14. The minute he walks in the door after school he'll be looking in the cupboards and in the cookie jar to find something to eat. Apples are okay, but other fruit are poison, lol. He will quite often make a toasted cheese sandwich in the toastie maker, preferably at least 2 or 3 at one sitting (double of course). And still eat his tea as well. And if I want to have any biscuits left at the weekend I have to hide them... or not buy them until the weekend, lol Maybe I should send him off for a week or so, lol.

My son had a wonderful time on the Gold coast and hopefully I'll be able to salvage some photos from the trip. He particularly enjoyed Australia zoo, feeding the animals and Movie world...spongebob fan. He was most impressed with 'room service' and not having to make his bed...I growled him for that, little shite!
