Ok log in to photobucket. You go directly into your photo album. Don't click on a picture, just click on the IMG Code line, which is the third line under the thumbnail. It copies itself, then paste the link on here and voila, instant pics!!

This was also a ceramic mould, painted, and I bought a glass vase thingy to put in it to make a lantarn with a candle inside. Its a bit of a Christmas theme actually.

And then this leaded glass frame. With this we used self sticking lead strips and used a drawing underneath for the contours. Then we used a sort of gluey stuff to make the etched look, a bit of paint mixed in for the colours. I hope the explanations make sense, have to try and explain in English what I did in Dutch, lol.

Nothing was lost in the translation Yollie They are all great. My sister used to be right into ceramics too. Lol we all knew what we would be getting for pressies. My older son still has 2 dragons she gave him about 15 years ago. A miracle it is too, he's the accident prone one!!

lol we've been there as well with the pressies. My mother goes to the same class, she has been there much longer (its her fault!! lol). She made heaps of porcelain dolls at first. I have about 5 of them upstairs somewhere. I tried my hand at one, but thats not for me. Still have my first effort though, it turned out okay but I'm not really into that. I like trying out new kinds of techniques, still wanting to do a mosaic thing but haven't got around to it yet. Maybe next season (after the summer break).

Mosaics is what interests me at the moment too Yollie. I have been collecting bits & pieces to make something, but what that is, hasn't come to me yet, lol.

lol me neither. I saw this nice piece made of broken pottery, the lady who takes our classes was planning on doing some more as well. You can buy complete packets to make smaller things, might be nice to try something out. But I'd like to make a table or something for outside once my back yard is finished. It would be nice if you could rely on someone to show up when they say they will though!!! This guy was going to come and do some paving last night but he never came. I hope he hasn't given up on us altogether! lol

Christmas landscape in ceramics. This was made in 5 pieces that fit together, and you can put in a wee light bulb at the back so the light will shine out at the front. The first pic shows the colours best.

wow that is soooooooooooooooooooooo cool!! thank you, I loved how it turned out too. I don't have it anymore though, as I gave it to my mother-in-law for her birthday. Couldn't think of anything she didn't already have, and I don't really have the space for all those knick knacks. She loved it too! I can always make a new one next year - don't think I will manage it in time for this years Christmas!

I had no idea what I was doing and used broken pieces of glass button thingys which were probably not the best thing to use. Very sharp so I got quite a few knicks in my fingers. A very basic image as I'm no artist and it suited the coloured glass buttons I had. I keep it out on the deck and it's getting a bit battered, it's fallen down onto the ground below a few times, so I thought I better take a photo before it gets any more damaged. Don't forget to take a pic of your calendar yollie

Lovely works of art - what is the name of the sculpture of the two people? I love the stain glass window of the butterfly, how long did it take to make something like that? Do you know mamamia, manukarose, Ladyp - they are such talented artists you should all pull together your talents (hehe). Thank you for sharing your works with us. Leigh

I didn't give the sculpture a name, will have to have a ponder on that.
The stain glass window took me about 3 evenings (evening class), it wasn't too hard actually, it is done with lead strips stuck onto the glass (over a colouring picture), and then filled in with a substance that dries up looking like frosted glass, and coloured glass. And some patches left clear. And yes, I have seen the ladies you mentioned on Zillion, there is a thread there in the off-discussion section where lots of us post pictures of arty things.

here's a pic of the calendar I made. I still haven't got started on a mosaic, probably won't until after the summer holidays, as we only have about 3 classes left. We did do a wee painting in the last couple of weeks, using a technique called shadow painting. I will put a pic up when I get my camera back (daughter has "borrowed" it once again, grrrrrr)
