Robert Ford ... long title, long film, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea. Not only is it long, but it's slow and everyone knows (even if you didn't beforehand through the title) the eventual outcome. I thought Brad Pitt's portrayal of Jesse James was phenomenal. Probably some of his best acting and he utilises the "superstar" quality he has to good ability. He plays Jesse as a superstar/celebrity (which he was) with a chilling paranoid quality that is interesting to watch.
Casey Affleck plays Robert Ford and although his big brother Ben is more well-known, young Casey proves that he's the better actor with his character portrayal.
Seriously ... I would give this a 7.5/8. It does come with warnings though ... if you don't like long, slow and intense films that portray the internal struggle of people ... this may not be for you.
