THUMBS UP!
We have an elderly cat called April. She is a bit of a strange creature. We inherited her from an elderly relative that has dementia. Three weeks ago April went missing. We searched the neighbourhood, called her every night etc but to no avail. Because April is old, I thought she might have gone to the great cat heaven of the sky.
Last night ... she walked back into the house, as bold as brass, a bit manky, but not really worse for wear. She was starving hungry. Honestly I jumped out of my skin! She has a funny meow like a bark and when this happened right behind me in the middle of the night, I jumped. She has eaten and eaten and eaten. I've combed her, the dog has cleaned her and even our prima donna cat, Maisie has given her the thumbs up for coming home. She was gone for THREE WEEKS!
She's lying on the rug, purring and with a very full stomach.
Double thumbs up for this one!

My neighbours old cat (gone to cat heaven in the sky) used to let out these ungodly looooooong purrs in a very squeaky, wailing voice. I found out later she was stone deaf and she had no idea how awful she sounded. I know what you mean Sparrow, that sound can make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. She'd pop in our back door to eat our pets food and she did that till the day the neighbours found her dead under their apple tree.

I know Caliz! I still can't quite believe the old lady came home and is, for all intents and purposes, okay!
Your neighbour's cat sounds fantastic. Our neighbour's cat basically lives here. She's such a social butterfly and enjoys company. When they toddle off out the door for long extended periods, we find Pixie here in the house. I think she comes here because it is quite lively and even if we're out our pets are here.
Pixie is delightful and I would pinch her, but next door are the coolest people and I'd hate to do that to them. So ... we've decided to share Pixie. Lol.

Thumbs up - had a fantastic afternoon at the skate rink. My friend Dee organised a whanau day. Over 400 people turned up to have fun on the ice. A total surprise and a great day.

Thumbs up: we had to rehome a little dog today. She has had a hard start in life and has been through two homes. The first one didn't feed her. The second one fed her, but disciplined her by giving her a hiding. Friends of ours took her, but they had just gotten two new puppies and couldn't keep her. Our elderly neighbour, who is the closest living person to a saint we know, decided she would take her in. The poor dog was called "Gin" (as in the grog), so we have renamed her Holly. She answered to Holly in ten minutes. We think even she knew her name wasn't appropriate for a little lady like her.
My neighbour ummed and agghed a bit because Holly is pretty young and fiesty. We got her a "halty" (nose harness) and our neighbour was able to steer Holly. After watching her for an hour at our place, our neighbour said she's coming home with me. Holly has found herself the best home ever.
Here's to good people and good pets everywhere.

Lovely post Sparrow .. I'm always astounded at how badly some can treat their so-called pets, but heartened to know there are just as many, if not more who take in these poor sad animals. It's great too that they soon learn to trust again and have a happy and safe life. A big thumbs up and a

Good bank .. bad bank Lux, both worthy of your thumbs.
My thumbs down is for cramps in feet and earthquakes, both resulting in a near sleepless night.
