hi cailz I use a long rod with a hook at the end to draw my curtains ,.I cant get close to them because our huge settees are in front of the windows
sometimes I have managed to snag the nett curtains with the hook and put a tear or two or three,...or even 4 in them
Ill have to buy now ones soon they look awful **sigh** another job to do !!

Snow in Arizona??
yes snow in Arizona, I like in Northern Arizona not down in the desert, 7000 feet above sea level, Can actualy hear a bit of sleat hitting the roof as i type. 80F is very hot here at opposed to the 110"s down in the desert, to bloody hot down there for this kiwi

I'm not holding out much hope for a fine day here. It started off with another of those red skies and as the saying goes .. "red in the morning, shepherds warning .... " I think we may have some rain later. It's all good at the moment though, the sun is shining and there's no wind.

I'm never too old to learn something new, thanks for that explanation Buck. Weather looks like rain, but the clouds are too high? In for penny, in for a pound. It could go either way today. Hi Misi, that's a good tip about the long rod. Although that's not my actual problem, my problem is that the stoopid 1950's pelmet hangs so low it get's in the way of your hands trying to unfasten the hooks from the curtains because they built it so close to the window. Now my curtains will have to stay unwashed unless I get my hands on a jigsaw.

we're sort of getting close to summer now. Well its still only about 15 C but we have had lovely sunny weather for close on 2 weeks, and when they had rain earlier this week down south we didn't get any! I've been watering my new plants cos they will die otherwise!!
Other than that I have been very busy.
Very tragic event here earlier this week too, the son of people we know, aged 17, hanged himself, everyone was shocked. We went to the service yesterday, it was packed to the rafters, very emotional of course, and all these youngsters were devastated as you can imagine. As we all were, this boy was in the same age group as our own children. Its going to leave a great big hole in everyone's lives!

So sorry to hear that Yollie. Know how you and your family are feeling too. The loss of a young friend is a horribly sad thing for our kids to go through. Veel sterkte to you all.

hi all. Another week of lovely sunny weather. Still no rain, the garden here could use some as well!
Kids have just started one and a half weeks holiday, they go back on May 6th. We have a couple of bank holidays coming up - days off for me as well. On Thursday (30th April) its our queen's birthday holiday and on May 5th liberation day, these are days that I usually work, so I have some time off - got Monday 4th off as well for an extra long weekend next week.
I can use some time off, nice to just be able to stay at home and relax and do nothing for a change!

Hi Yollie, you can have some of what we have been having since yesterday morning. How quickly we become sick of it even after one day!! I'm reading a book at the moment which is set in Amsterdam and it's giving me an insight into your country I still cannot get my head around the fact you can smoke marijuana in bars etc without being fined. The book is called The Apothocary's House and so far is a really good read .. just wish I could stay awake long enough to read more than a few pages a night ;D

Its persisting down in the Hutt, the sort of weather that makes you want to put on a pot of vege soup...though it isn't cold at all and was quite muggy during the night .

Today was very nice so pleasant but SOMETHING boiling up over to the South west cold is arriving looking over frequently to the south. Have quoted the warmth up to slowly release over the coming weeks. It is meant to me brrrrrh over the next few days. Too still for my liking. Lux does feel earthquakie interesting how you mentioned that Lux me was feeling earthquake like ie my ears we on extra alert. They are not jumbo ears either little mouse ears on detection, detection just like a Blackbird moving its head ever so slightly listening for worms.
What are your experiences with barometers? - they do look fun but i don't have one
