They bring back childhood memories for me bingbong. Every morning dad would stop by his one on the hall wall and tap it to see what the weather was going to be. I look in TM every now and then, thinking I would like one, but haven't got as far as buying one .. yet Re earthquake Lux, there was one but I didn't feel it, had just fallen asleep but read about it this morning. Centred in Greytown I understand. A handy site for earthquake news .. www.geonet.org.nz/earthquake/quakes/latest.html

It's been sticky and humid and very very wet lately. They say the temperatures will start dropping much more by the weekend. Out come heaters and fire up those wetback burners again.

It hasn't rained here for a few hours, but there has been a lot of it over the last few days. The Hutt river is very high and any more rain, it might cause a bit of flooding in some areas.
Very warm here too cailz, but a change to the south usually means the temp is about to drop and I think that is what I heard on the weather report .. a change to southerly winds.

A lot cooler here now, had to light the fire last night. It's not rained today and hopefully it will be fine for the next four days .. off to Waiterere first thing tomorrow morning and although my sisters & I won't mind sitting around doing crosswords and reading, my son won't be so happy with that if it's raining.

wow misilon, that must have felt good! Maire have a great time! We've been having some ace weather here. It rained a little last Sunday/Monday and more on Tuesday and since then it has been really great again. Tomorrow expected to be beaut as well, which is good as I am going sailing in the morning. Thursday (our Queens day) started off a beautiful day (actually weatherwise it was beautiful all day), until some nut job decided to storm the bus that the royal family was in, and crashed into a monument, taking out 17 people on the way. It was all shown live on tv. So horrible to watch over and over again. 5 people died outright, or soon after. The guy himself died last night, and one of the royal guards died earlier today, total of 7. Others are still in hospital, a couple still critically injured.

Nice pic Missti and good to see you Yollie I caught a bit of that on the news last night didn't realise so many people had been injured or killed as missed the majority of the story, didn't even realise from what I saw that it was a deliberate act.... Terrible tragedy Hope you have a lovely day for sailing. Maire looks like you have good weather for your get together I bet you are cackling away with sisters right about now Any bargains misi? I wish I had time for garage saling cause I love it but I'm just never ready in time for anything these days...blah! Turned into a lovely day anyway.

thanks Lux - the weather was great, not too much wind, and sunny so the sailing was lovely. Yesterday we had some rain, and it has cooled down to a mere 11 C (its still morning though) and we are likely to have more rain, which the garden desperately needs. But it should clear up towards Thursday and warm up again by the weekend. We are being spoiled at the moment!

Yollie that car incident was terrible. How horrible for all who witnessed and suffered from it.
Lux lol at the "cackling" .. there was plenty of that and a lot more hilarity, especially when we were playing on the pool table they have there .. our inexpert playing was a great source of amusement ;D We had absolutely fabulous weather, quite summerlike, very hot during the day and at night too, but from the fire. Even though it was a great break, it's always good to get back home.
