WoooooHoooo must take after their mum eh? Recession hasn't really touched me personally but then I'm in the kind of work which a recession which a recession would increase our workload...we've had our first case of swine flu confirmed today - no idea what that means in the overall scheme of things, none of the medical staff appear to be panicing...yet. Glad to hear you and yours are well kiwi, keep on keeping on! Its snowing, hailing and sleeting in the Hutt!

Nice one Kiwis don't you just love it when your kids do well? The recession in our household is also not a biggie, yet.
We have a dedicated website at work for the swine flu packed with all the do's and donts it's not bad at all. With all the cases in the Samoan community down here at the mo I've avoided most of the public Pasefika community meetings don't want to tempt fate (asthmatic).
Anyway back to the weather still crappy.

Anyway back to the weather still crappy. That swine flu has me worried about going out too Koko. With my stuffed lungs and asthma, it's a real threat. Doc told me to get the flu shot as a dose of the flu would likely put me in hospital with pneumonia .. even that wasn't enough though for me to get over my fear of needles and I still haven't had the 'shot'. It's not going to stop the swine flu either ( would it?).

This seasons flu injection won't stop swine flu because its come out after this winters flu jab has been made up.

I think the best idea is what you've mentioned alread Koko, avoid crowds, gatherings especially if you know people are unwell. The other is washing hands after using anything that is accessed by general public at large. Which is a lot eh, perhaps carry bacterial wipes. I think you have to take extra precautions if getting a dose of the flu could give you other health complications. My son is a bit worried about going to school at the moment because of his heart stuff - though he is well, there have been some tests done on students at his school.

hi all, thought I would come and skite about my gorgeous weather too, but Bron has already been here ahead of me, lol. I'm pretty flat out these days, working an extra day a week then all the usual household stuff etc etc. Things are winding down now though, the end of the school year is in sight, only two weeks to go, and then we are off straight away for our summer holiday in the south of France, the 3rd of July we are off till the 18th, and then I have scouting camp straight after that! Son just got his final exam results today, he passed with flying colours! So from August we have two students in the house as he is off to junior college to study ICT (computer tech). Daughter is just winding down her 2nd year, one more to go then she wants to join the navy!! Not sure if/how that will turn out but we will see next year. Probably the last year they will both come with us on holiday. (maybe our last year for a while too, as they will be bringing lots of extra bills in!) Swine flu, they are now calling it the Mexican flu here. There have been a few cases here too, and expecting to be more towards the autumn/winter. The flu jab won't stop it, although it will boost the immune system, so can't hurt to get it as a precaution. Luckily the tami flu stuff they have from the bird flu seems to be quite effective, and they are working on an anti whatsit which seems to be going pretty well.

Was a cracker day here in the Naki, brilliant blue sky Took the little ones up the mountain for a picnic lunch, they enjoyed a bit of fun in the snow. But since we got home it has becaome a bit overcast, and had a few spits of rain before.
