No I don't think I've seen that film! Must have a look out for it.
At the moment I'm reading another Jeffrey Deaver book, The Twelfth Card. Only just started it so I can't really say if it is up to his usual standards, although the beginning is pretty good!

Finished the Twelfth Card, as good as his other books (Deaver), good plot.
I have now finally got Cradle and All by James Patterson to read, only read one of his books which was rather strange (When the bough breaks - I think).

Well I've finished Cradle and All. I must say that James Patterson has a seriously kinky mind!! Either that or he's obsessed with religion, good and evil, lol. His style is very readable though and at least I don't do two weeks over one book like some other authors!

I have read most of James Pattersons books... he is very good, easy to read that the chapters are only 2 pages long!!!

Reading the Burn Journals by Brent Runyon...a 14 year old that set himself on fire (a suicide attempt that failed) It is the his story of his recovery.
May sound morbid but I'm hoping it will give me insight and help me in my work environment.

Nearly finished Warlock by Wilbur Smith. Enthralling, hard to put down, a great story, if you like stories of Ancient Egypt, as I do. The violence and there is a lot, is very graphic and a bit hard to stomach. I skipped over some of the more gruesome bits

The Rape of Nanking by Iris Chang - Pretty gruesome stuff, and quite shocking in that I didn't know anything about it until I read the book. 300,000 people slaughtered by the Japanese in 1937.
The interesting thing about this story is that a wealthy businessman by the name of John Rabe who was a Nazi created a safety zone inside the City and by using his association to the Nazis was able to save tens of thousands of people by sheltering them in about a two mile strip. He even wrote to Hitler asking for assistance to save the residents of Nanking from the invading Japanese Army. He never received any assistance.
When he left China, he was basically considered an enemy by both the Nazis and the Allies, was starving and destitute - families from Nanking sent him money and food packages He died before the end of WWII.
The book is pretty horrific to read but it certainly tells an honest story, lots of research and eye witness accounts.

and I read the third in that series as well - can't quite recall the name.
At the moment I am plodding through a book by Barbara Vine called Grasshopper. Not sure where its headed, I'm about 1/3 through and its rather confusing, it leaps between the present, the past (way back) and the past (more recent). Hard to keep up!

Have to admit, nothing but the newspaper at the moment. Ernest Callenbach's "Ecotopia" was my last read, interesting concept about how a section of the US breaks away and forms a totally new type of sustainable society... www.ernestcallenbach.com/books.htm

Hello Everyone I've been trying to read Infidel by Ayaan Hirshi Ali (My Life) what an inspirational woman. In this profoundly affecting memoir from the internationally renowed author of The Caged Virgin, Ayan Hirsi Ali tells her astonishing life story, from her traditional Muslim childhoood in Somalia to her intellectural awakening in the Netherlands to her life under armed guard in the west. Reading is such a luxury taking time out to simply sit somewhere quiet and read would be wonderful. Anyway what I have read so far is very inspirational.
