I want to see sex in the city as well, but caspian is a must, Ill go and pick up map of the human heart to watch this week ,.. Misi - you gotta go! Take a few of your gal-pals and make a night of it. We got a group of women together and got a group discount. If you get over 10, they give you some $$$ off the ticket price. We got dressed up to the 9s and trotted off. It was a real occasion. The film is like catching up with girlfriends that you haven't seen for a few years. I could happily see it again.

I've watched a few movies lately:
1) We own the night - average. It missed being a great movie by about "this" much.
2) Rogue - I enjoyed this. I'm a Jet Li fan, so it would have to be really bad for me to hate it. In saying that, I did enjoy this movie. It's probably a high B or low B+. Nice twist at the end, but it can be pretty gory in some parts.
3) The Incredible Hulk (2) - this is a really good version and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We got up and went to the midnight session. Well, I should say the kids and hubby got up for it. I just stayed awake. Lol. If you get to see this - watch for some inter-textual references to other versions of the Incredible Hulk. Fleeting glimpses of Bill Bixby, Lou Ferrigno, Stan Lee (the writer of the Incredible Hulk), the guy who voiced the original animated series (he plays Stanley - geddit? Geddit? Stan-Lee/Stanley - ok. Nerd attack). To top it off, Lou Ferrigno voices the Hulk and when he yells: "Hulk Smash", I thought all ten of us in the theatre were going to rupture our voices going: "Yay". Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, William Hurt and Tim Roth are great ... and wait until the end for a cheeky cameo from Robert Downey Junior in "Iron Man" character. The fight between Hulk and Abomination is AWESOME - if you like that sort of thing. I would definitely recommend this. It did, however, cost us about $90 for four tickets, 3 popcorns, 4 icecreams and a coke ...
4) Last, but not least - I watched The Kite Runner. It's an Afghani movie. It moves between English and Afghani, and has sub-titles. It is a beautiful and really moving story. I actually shed a tear at its beauty. Not a sobbing kind of Life is Beautiful tear attack, but a bit of a cry all the same.

my guys went to see Hancock with Will Smith, they really enjoyed it. Apparently a twist in the plot at the end, probably with an eye on making a part 2? I will wait for the dvd though.

We saw Narnia, Prince Caspian a couple of nights ago and we all loved it. Hubby thought it was really great and he hadn't seen Narnia, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe first.

The Dark Knight:
My son and his friends went to see the movie last night, their review - It was COOL!
The movie is rated m and apparently is quite dark, it focuses more on the villian than the hero.

Okay ... 3.10 to Yuma ... I love Westerns and I thought this one was superb. Fast-paced, action packed, well acted, great cast and a bit of a psychological thriller thrown in for good measure. The ending had us in analytical mode for quite some time and we had to agree to disagree on some parts.
I'm not a huge Russell Crowe fan, but I tip my hat to him on this one. He was superb as the sociopathic Ben Wade who might just have enough humanity in him somewhere ... deep down ... really, really deep down.

Have just watched the Golden Compass, a 'kidult' [?] movie. It was based on a Philip Pullman book The Northern Lights. I read the book years ago after discovering the Young Adult section at the library had some excellent reading material ;D The movie was okay and the ending was such that a sequel or two could follow.

I quite liked it too and it really is set up for a sequel. It got quite a bit of bad publicity didn't it from the Church about being anti-Christian? You'd have to be looking at it as an adult to see that. It could be worse: it could be outright Christian propaganda like the Chronicles of Narnia, but funnily enough ... there were no outcries about that.

Son and I watched ' I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry' Had a good few laughs really enjoyed it!
and then son went off to bed and I watched the movie 'September Dawn' hmmm, I don't think the Mormon church would have approved of its release.
The story of a massacre of 130 immigrants traveling through Utah to get to California in 1857, by members of the Mormon Church of Latter Day Saints, allegedly ordered by high members of the church, though they have never admitted it and never been made accountable.

TRANSFORMERS;
Watched this with my (16) son in the weekend, and man we LOVED it! lol It was quite funny, and the special effects were very well done. It was way cool. My little brother (19) used to get into those transformer toys way way back in the day. The movie surpassed my expectations. Cos I thought it would be dumb. lol
