Also ... Yes Man. Jim Carrey - who usually drives me up the wall - was pretty good in this role. The premise is of a man that is challenged to say "yes" to everything and the trouble that can ensue ...

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. 8/10, packed a punch alright. Lux: I would recommend that you read the book too. I thought the book was better than the film. The film did a darn good job though, but the book is more subtle. It's really clever because kids can read it at one level and adults at another.

I think I read it in a day. Even hubby picked it up and read it! (And that's saying something. He decided "my" literature was worth a gander after I bought the Ghengis Khan trilogy by Conn Iggulden and he couldn't put them down. Lol).

Public Enemies - what can I say? Johnny Depp as John Dillinger. Definitely worth a gander.

Blindness...2/10 quite horrendous really but I give it two points because I found idea of a naturally blind person becoming little Hitler thought provoking, something about shifts in power and how we might perceive what is a disadvantage and what is an advantage in extreme circumstances.

Went to see the lovely bones and was up to expectations, I was interested in seeing how Peter Jackson portrayed the in between worlds, he did the story justice in my opinion, 9/10. If you go see it take the tissues theres some real heart pounding moments. Oh sparrow I enjoyed second hand wedding too!

Alice in Wonderland, I had to go see it since Johnny Depp was a main player. I enjoyed it. I wouldn't recommend it for kids under 12 though, there was a darkness about it which I think younger children would find a bit frightening. The beginning bits were hilarious.

Sounds interesting Lux, will keep that one in mind (Johnny Depp is one of my favourites) ;D I watched Harry Potter and the half blood prince recently and was disappointed. It was not nearly as good as the earlier ones were. We sat there waiting for something exciting to happen and nothing did

Moon - directed by Duncan Jones (aka Zowie Bowie - who's traveling incognito under his dad's original name!). Great film. Thought provoking, sad etc with nods to some classic sci-fi b grade movies of the past. If you like sci-fi, mysteries etc, you may like this film.
Jones won best newcomer at the Baftas with this film. Thoroughly enjoyed it. We watched it twice and I'm going to purchase it.
