The Dark Knight - I really enjoyed it. Mummy 3 - Fantastic if you're 10! What happened in Vegas - once again, fantastic if you're 10.
The Painted Veil - brilliant. If you liked The English Patient, you will like this.
The Incredible Hulk - fantastic even when you're older than 10.

My sis sent me 2 DVD's for my birthday, one was Mamma Mia the movie and the other Sex and the City. Yesterday I watched Mamma Mia but I was dubious that I'd enjoy it, being a musical and I'm not really a fan of Abba. I absolutely enjoyed it, and I'll be watching it again. ;D Still to watch Sex in the City. Hubby nicked the Abba CD that came with the movie so he can listen to it in his car.

If you can get it in NZ the film "Bride Flight" is a lovely Dutch made film, mostly filmed on location in NZ. Its about the brides (to-be) that flew from Holland to NZ to meet up and marry their fiancés, and follows 3 of them. Its a romanticised version of way back then, but I though it was pretty right on. Its not out on dvd yet, but one that I will definitely buy when it does come out.

Yip, Sex and the City is not entirely up my alley, even the fashion was a bit over the top, i mean, you'd never find me wearing half that stuff. On the other hand I did enjoy Mamma Mia heaps more and even found myself singing along, although I'm no Abba fan. I'd definitely watch it again.

Has anyone seen Mongol? I quite enjoyed it. It was a bit like an Eastern Braveheart, but hey, I can live with that. I've always found Ghengis Khan a fascinating historical figure and so got this out on dvd. The Japanese-Navajo actor, Tadanobu Asano was fantastic as Temudjin/Ghengis Khan. Khan's rise to power is fascinating and the film did take quite marked artistic license with the story, but all-in-all, I'd recommended a watch.
*Warning: It has subtitles.

guess I'll be going crossed eye sparrow. Our lad watched it with no problems, Koko. Honestly, I thought he'd get bored with the subtitles, but he watched the film right through.

Tropic Thunder. Hubby is the comedy buff, but this film ... I laughed my head off. Stellar cast: Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jnr, Nick Nolte, Matthew McCaugh (sp) and a scene stealing Tom Cruise. Highly recommended if you need a good laugh.

I'm not a great fan of Ben Stiller or Tom Cruise but love Jack Black. Agree 100% this movie is hilarious especially the Tom Cruise scene lol

The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons - Excellent chick flick, pure fantasy, strokes all the emotions 8/10 It's a chick flick? I haven't taken much notice, only knew Brad Pitt was ageing backwards in time. Well now, I'll just have to make sure I see it when it comes out on DVD.

We went to see Indiana Jones and the Cristal Skulls on Sunday night. It was awesome, I really loved it. Never a dull moment, lots of action and humor. If you liked the other Indiana Jones films then this is an absolute must!!! Loved all the Indiana Jones movies and have watched them all many times. I'll wait 'til this one comes to Sky Box office as I can't be bothered going out to the movies ;D Definitely my sort of movie ... adventure, action, mystery and fantasy Finally got to watch Indiana and it didn't disappoint. Hardly noticed he was getting "old" apart from the grey hair, it was just as exciting as the past I J adventures.

Mmmm Keanu, yes I think any part he played would be good I watched that movie a few weeks ago and can't even remember it lol not a good recommendation ;D Saw two movies yesterday, Legally Blonde which was hilarious in parts and Journey to the centre of the Earth ... it was okay, but not a lot in it, seemed too short with not enough oomph ... definitely that something special that makes a good exciting movie was missing.

Across the Universe Beatle's fans this movie is for you. All the way through the movie references made to Beatles song and some pretty good covers. The Director was very clever. Really liked Joe Cocker in this

WOLVERINE - X-men fan here from waaaayyyy back when it was a comic!!! Really enjoyed the movie, Hugh Jackman is so hot! Ryan Reynolds is such a hunk, loved the special effects and fighting scenes were fabulous. Storyline somewhat disjointed in places, dialogue a little flat, but I love all the x-men movies and this is no exception!
FIVE STARS * * * * *

Twilight - I liked it. Daughter loved it. It did inspire me to buy the books and read them.
Gran Torino - superb. Clint Eastwood as a cantankerous old codger. Thought provoking and proves Eastwood is probably one of the best social commentators in America at the moment.
Changeling - harrowing. Overshadowed a bit by Angelina's beauty, but she is excellent in the role.
Rain of the Children - I agree Lux. Thought provoking, sad, gut wrenching and well worth the watch (*caveat - make sure you are feeling strong when you watch the movie).
Let the Right one in - A gothic, Scandanavian Twilight - without the romance and Bev Hills 90210 lookalikes. *Subtitled*
The Counterfeiters - Brilliant. *Subtitled* It's about the Nazi's attempt to counterfeit the pound and US$, and the inmates that defied them. Excellent film.
Role Models - Pretty amusing. I particularly like the weird role playing kid and the potty mouthed kid. Recommended for those who enjoy comedy and don't mind a bit of a potty mouthed child.
